Accelerated deployment of renewable energy sources (RES)<\/strong> plays a central role in achieving the ambitions of the European Green Deal<\/strong> and the European Climate Law<\/strong>. However, lengthy, and complex permit-granting procedures and other administrative barriers slow down RES deployment.<\/p>\n

Barriers also hamper the development of renewable power purchase agreements (PPAs), which should become a major driver for increased market-based renewables deployment in the coming years.<\/p>\n

In the context of the upcoming EU recommendation and guidance on good practices to improve permit-granting procedures for renewable energy projects and to facilitate PPAs and the ongoing public consultation<\/strong><\/a>, the event will bring together EU and national policy-makers, as well as project promoters and stakeholders involved in renewables projects and PPAs, to share their experience and ideas for ways to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy projects.<\/p>\n

The event opens with a keynote speech from the Commissioner for Energy<\/strong>, Kadri Simson<\/strong>, followed by a high-level roundtable and two panel discussions structured around the two main topics covered in the guidance :<\/p>\n
